Q. How do Solo Stoves work?

A. Solo Stoves work by utilizing a double-wall design and strategically placed air vents to promote efficient combustion. This creates a secondary burn that reduces smoke and increases heat output.

Q. How do you start a fire in a Solo Stove?

A. To start a fire in a Solo Stove, place small kindling at the bottom of the stove, then add larger sticks or logs on top. Use a firestarter or tinder to ignite the kindling, and let the air flow design do the rest.

Q. How do you clean a Solo Stove?

A. To clean a Solo Stove, wait for it to cool down completely, then tip it upside down to remove the ashes. Use a soft brush to clean the interior and a damp cloth to wipe the exterior if needed.

Q. Where can I buy a Solo Stove?

A. Solo Stoves can be purchased on the official Solo Stove website, through authorized retailers like Rural Energy, or on various e-commerce marketplaces such as Amazon.

Q. What can you burn in a Solo Stove?

A. Solo Stoves are designed to burn dry, seasoned hardwoods, such as oak or hickory, for optimal performance and minimal smoke.

Q. How long does it take for a Solo Stove to cool down?

A. It usually takes around 30-45 minutes for a Solo Stove to cool down after the fire has been extinguished. However, the cooling time may vary depending on the stove's size and the fire's intensity.

Q. How do you use a Solo Stove handle?

A. The Solo Stove handle is used to safely move the stove, adjust its position, or remove the flame ring. Always use a heat-resistant glove or a tool like pliers when handling the hot stove.

Q. Where are Solo Stoves made?

A. Solo Stoves are designed in the United States, and the manufacturing is outsourced to facilities in China that meet Solo Stove's quality standards.

Q. Who owns Solo Stove?

  • Twigs for Fuel, Hotter Fires, Less Smoke, and Way More Fun!

The Solo Stove Lite is the perfect addition to any backpacker’s bag as a lightweight cooking stove for one to two people; and the best part? No fuel to carry! Your food shouldn’t depend on carrying or finding a place that sells gas when nature provides the perfect tinder and wood all year. Now you can minimize your pack weight and your footprint with this ultra-efficient stove.

The Lite operates on small twigs and sticks, or an alcohol burner, to fuel the fire while the air intake holes on the bottom pull air in towards the fuel source. While air is being pulled in, the double-wall construction allows air to be heated up and fed through the top vents providing an extra boost of pre-heated oxygen, creating secondary combustion. With this, you’ll get a hotter fire with less smoke!

    Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can the Solo Stove Lite cook for?
This depends on what you’re cooking but generally, the Solo Stove Lite is a great stove for 1-2 people.

What’s the difference between the Solo Stove Lite, Titan, and Campfire?
Aside from weight and portability, the main difference is size. The Solo Stove Lite is good for 1-2 people, the Titan is good for 2-4 people and the larger Campfire works great for groups of 4+ people.

What wood types do you recommend using as fuel?
Any dry twigs, pinecones, or leaves will burn but for optimum efficiency, we recommend dry hardwoods. Hardwoods such as birch, maple, hickory, and oak will burn longer than softwoods.

Is the Solo Stove Lite airplane friendly?
Yes! Solo Stoves, unlike most canister fuel burning stoves, can be carried on or checked in at the airport.

How do I clean and store my stove?
After your stove is cool, a quick shake will get rid of any remaining ashes left in your stove. Place it in its stuff sack and keep it in a cool and dry place when not in use. It’s that easy!

  • Cooking for the group? No problem! Campfire is the big daddy of the family and is great for small groups of 4+ people.

Designed with a double-wall, the Solo Stove Campfire is a natural convection inverted down gas gasifier stove.

The air intake holes on the bottom of the stove channels air to the bottom of the fire while at the same time, channels warm air up between the walls of the stove. This burst of preheated oxygen feeding back into the firebox through the smaller holes at the top of the stove causes a secondary combustion. This allows the fire to burn more complete which is why there is very little smoke during full burn. A more efficient burn also means you'll use much less wood compared to an open campfire. The Solo Stove Campfire doesn't just burn wood. It actually cooks the smoke out of the wood and then burns the smoke not once, but twice!

The Solo Stove Campfire also features a heat shield between the ash pan and the bottom of the stove. This heat shield protects the ground under the stove from scorching. The cooking ring's angled lip also increases efficiency by directing heat towards your pot minimizing heat loss. It also acts as a windshield while still allowing oxygen to flow inward. The Solo Stove Campfire is indeed one of the most efficient wood-burning stoves you'll ever own.

  • The most compact fire pit in the Solo Stove collection. The Ranger is perfect for smaller spaces, city dwellers, and for those who live life on the go!

Solo Stove Ranger is your new favorite travel companion that you'll love showing off in your backyard too.

The Solo Stove Ranger harnesses our patented design in a more compact size and travel-friendly size. The Ranger sets up and starts quickly allowing you to have a no-trace fire in more places than just the backyard. The double-wall design creates a burst of hot air over the fire reducing the smoke without the use of batteries and fans. By design, Ranger burns wood so efficiently you’ll only be left with ultra-fine ash making clean up as simple as dumping out the spent ash.

The Ranger is fueled by chunk wood or small logs and offers all the benefits of a wood-burning fire without the smoke or the campfire smell sticking to your clothes. It also comes with a durable carry case with handles for easy transport!

    How it Works

    Airflow
Rising hot air, and the absence of oxygen created by the combustion process, pulls air through the bottom vent holes. This air movement fuels the fire at its base while also providing a boost of preheated air through the vent holes at the top of the burn chamber.

    Ash Pan
Catches loose ash and prevents it from clogging vital airflow. The ash pan also acts as a heat shield and reduces the heat transfer from your Bonfire to the ground beneath it.

    Precision Base Plate
Allows oxygen to be fed directly to embers from below. This helps to burn biofuel faster and hotter while allowing spent ash to fall out of the process

    Secondary Burn
Vent holes near the top of the burn chamber allow preheated oxygen to fuel the flame resulting in a more complete combustion and a hotter fire with less smoke.

    Fire Ring
The fire ring is formed from a single piece of 304 stainless steel, deep drawn with precision tooling and hand polished. The fire ring is designed to keep the fire centered and even. It sits securely on the top and when turned upside down, nests inside for simple storage.

  • The lid turns your fire pit into a stylish tabletop to place your drinks, chips, and dip, or even your cards on before it’s time to get a roaring fire going.

The lid should not be used to snuff out a fire but to cover your warm fire pit at the end of a burn. Place on top when the fire has died down but your Solo Stove is still warm. Just like Yukon, Lid is made with durable 304 stainless steel.

⚠️WARNING: The combustion products emitted when this product is burning can expose you to chemicals including carbon monoxide which is known by the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to P65warnings.ca.gov.
